At the culmination of the Monterey Car Week, during the Concours d’Elegance celebration, classic and luxury automobile enthusiasts experienced luxury across multiple platforms with the unveiling of a custom designed Rolls-Royce Dawn by renowned designer and author, Barclay Butera as well as the debut of luxury lounge seating from CASTELLE customized by Butera. During the lead up to the final day’s unveiling, a VIP hospitality venue was created by Butera to prominently feature the custom designed Park Place sectional.

Barclay Butera recently announced plans to collaborate with award-winning designer and manufacturer of luxury casual furniture, CASTELLE outdoor living furnishings, Mr. Butera designed not only the interior and exterior of the luxury Rolls-Royce; but also made the custom fabric and finish selections for the Park Place seating. A navy and white nautical theme was incorporated across all designs. Decorative pillows embroidered with the “double R’s” for Rolls-Royce were featured on the Park Place.

Butera’s utilized a unique nautical theme on the luxury items created to complement the style and ocean side residence of the South Florida Rolls-Royce client. Mr. Butera, well known for many nautical-inspired interior designs, worked with the owner to incorporate her passion for all things oceanic into this unique Dawn. Featuring a Midnight Sapphire Bonnet over an Arctic White body, the Nautical Dawn’s exterior was inspired by the blue and white motif of great sailing yachts and the color of the sea. The maritime theme is carried over into additional luxury interior details and the CASTELLE lounge seating.

“Designing a custom Rolls-Royce was a dream come true, an opportunity of a lifetime,” said Butera. “When the company approached me about designing their outdoor spaces at the Quail Motorsports unveiling and their spectacular mansion in Pebble Beach, I knew I could count on my partners at Castelle to deliver! The furniture was a huge hit and we were thrilled that Castelle’s custom capabilities were able to turn around designs that were brand spot-on in such a tight timeline. There really is no other source for custom outdoor furnishings quite like Castelle.”

The Barclay Butera Rolls-Royce Dawn was one of three that were commissioned to represent the best of luxury and craftsmanship. The Butera-designed Rolls-Royce was unveiled at a private gathering of Rolls-Royce Collectors on Saturday, Aug. 20. It was a part of Rolls-Royce activities at the 2016 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, the world’s premier celebration of luxury and automobiles.

“CASTELLE was excited to work with Barclay on the product for this event and honored to see our handcrafted furnishings as part of this very prestigious and luxury focused event,” said Steve Lowsky, CEO, CASTELLE. “This collaboration provided us the perfect platform to highlight our custom capabilities and allowed Barclay’s unique vision to be carried across both symbols of the best of luxury and craftsmanship, Rolls-Royce and CASTELLE.”
